Meditation in OSHO Tapoban

OSHO - Introduction

Osho popularly known in the world today, was born in 1931 in a Jain family of India in present Madhya Pradesh and rested in peace in 1990 in Poona India. He was also known as Acharya Rajneesh for sometime, and in the later decades as Bhagawan Shree Rajneesh ( Bhagawan means God, Shree – a respected title in the Indian continent and Rajneesh – his childhood name ). The professor of philosophy in India was India’s mystic, Guru and spiritual teacher. He started his public speech criticizing socialism, Gandhi, the government policies, Sex and various topics which brought a significant tension with the government of India. He had relocated in Oregon USA for some years by establishing Osho commune he was arrested by the authorities after the commune leadership committed some crimes, had tension on the land with locals  He was deported back to India and died in 1990 . His Ashram in Poona is now Osho International Meditation Resort.

His teachings focus on the importance of meditation, awareness, love, celebration, courage, creativity and humour – qualities that he views as being suppressed by adherence to static belief systems, religious systems and socialization. Osho’s teachings have had a notable impact on the western new age thought and the popularity increasing markedly since his death.

Osho Tapoban in Kathmandu

Osho Tapoban is an international commune that came into existence by the effort of Swami Anand Arun, an intimate disciple of Osho. Swami Ananda Arun coordinates the commune presently. Osho had a desire to live in the Himalayas during last days of his life which could not be materialized by various reason.

 During His visit to Nepal He had directed Swami Arun to build a commune so Swami Arun and friends established this retreat centre in the foot hills of Nagarjuna forest, where Buddhist saint Nagarjuna had meditated and attained ultimate enlightenment.

Osho Tapoban is a trust, managed by trustees and lovers of Osho which has common rooms, dormitories, deluxe rooms that can easily accommodate 100 people for Meditation Camps, a beautiful Meditation Hall to accommodate 200 people for meditation and 500 for discourses.

The grand place to be at Osho Tapoban is The OSHO SAMADHI, were the sacred remains of Oshos body have been kept. Besides the scenic beauty all the year round one can feel the energy and the vibe of Osho every where at Osho Tapoban. Tapoban is being popular among Osho Lovers and the visitors from Nepal and other countries too. Rajneesh Dhyan Mandir

Located at the heart of Osho Tapoban and  is a beautifully designed in a form of Shiva Linga  is a Rajneesh Dhyan Mandir ( Meditation Hall)  which can accommodate up to 200 people for regular meditation and 500 people for discourses.

Osho Samadhi

At the sacred place where the Buddhist saint Nagarjuna attained his ultimate Enlightenment 2000 years ago, a beautiful Osho Samadhi with granite and white marble is created. In the place where the holy remains of Osho are buried. It is a state of art architecture that can be found in Nepal and is a symbolic representation of the eternity.

Sculpture Garden

There is a beautiful sculpture garden consisting of many statues like Buddha, LaotZu, Lord Ganesh, Ardhanarishwor, Lord Shiva etc. These sculptures are an artist's impression of the respective deities.

Flora and Fauna

Osho Tapoban has a variety of flowers, native trees and wild life. Occasionally wild animals such as deer, the Royal Bengal Tiger, Leopards, Bears are spotted among the dense green forest. Osho Tapoban is being popular among the bird watchers and nature lovers.

Shivapuri Baba Silence Temple

The recently completed Shiv puri Baba Silence Temple is the first of such kind in Nepal. It houses a beautiful white sculpture of Shivpuri Baba who lived in Nepal during the last days of his life. This beautiful place is available for Silent Sitting for Meditators

Itinerary in Detail:

DAY 01: ARRIVAL KATHMNADU

Arrival in Kathmandu and then transfer to the Hotel.

DAY 02: TOUR OF KATHMNADU AND TRANSFER TO THE CAMP.

Half day city tour of Religious and Cultural Kathmandu. In the evening transfer to the Tapoban and report for the Meditation. 

DAY 03 - 10: MEDITATION IN THE TAPOBAN

Participate in the Meditation camp scheduled by the Camp.

DAY 11: KATHMANDU

Transfer back to Kathmandu. Overnight stay in the Hotel.

DAY 12: DEPARTURE TO HOME / OR OTHER PROGRAMS

Departue transfer to the Airport or start Trekking in the Himalayas !!

Drive or Fly to Pokhara  or Bhairahawa for Lumbini Camp. Arrive Camp and prepare for the meditation.

DAY 03 - 07 : MEDITATION IN UPABAN ( POKHARA ) OR JETBAN ( LUMBINI)

Participate in the Meditation camp scheduled by the Camp.

DAY 08 : BACK TO KATHMANDU or GO FOR TREKKING 

Transfer back to Kathmandu. Overnight stay in the Hotel OR Extend the Nepal stay by joining Trekking in the Himalayas !! 

DAY 09 : DEPARTURE TO HOME / OR OTHER PROGRAMS

Departue transfer to the Airport or Trekking in the Himalayas !!
